Lesson 2 - Who Pays Zakah?
Who is zakah obligatory upon? What are the characteristics and conditions of the one who has to pay zakah, and and who is exempt from it? Shaykh Abu Eesa discusses and explains zakah and who deserves zakah.
Lesson 3 - Who Receives Zakah?
Now we know who has to pay zakah, but who is eligible to actually receive zakah? Can anyone receive our charity? Sh. Abu Eesa lists those who are able to receive zakah, and discusses each category in detail.
Lesson 4 - What Is Zakah Paid On?
When it comes to the wealth that we pay zakah on, what do we include? Do we pay zakah on our houses? Our cars? Sh. Abu Eesa discusses the differences of opinion and shares the categories of wealth that zakah must be paid upon.
Lesson 5 - Urud-al-Tijara
Urud-al-tijara are merchandised goods that are bought and sold to make a profit. Is zakah payable on that? Are you allowed to give the merchandise itself as zakah? This lesson covers how zakah works when it comes to merchandise that is being bought and sold in a business.
Lesson 6 - Zakatul-Fitr
There are actually various types of zakah that differ from sadaqah, voluntary charity. One type is zakatul-fitr, which is an obligatory charity paid on a specific day, Eid ul-fitr, and has different rules and regulations. How does one pay zakatul-fitr? This lesson discusses the details of sadaqah and zakatul-fitr.
Lesson 7 - Applying Theory
Now that we’ve covered all the theory of zakah, Shaykh Abu Eesa takes us through a case-based scenario to further explain the concept of zakah and what to do in certain situations regarding zakah.
Lesson 8 - Common Questions
Zakah is one of those areas which causes a lot of unrest for most people especially if you do not know what is obligatory upon you due to the fact you were unaware or you started practicing later. However it is of utmost importance that this Pillar of Islam is fulfilled correctly not just as an act of worship for Allah but for the right of the poor that this wealth goes to. Abu Eesa goes through the most common questions asked about Zakah in this lesson.

How is the course structured?
This is a comprehensive online program that includes on-demand modules recorded and edited for online learning. You will gain access to a variety of core essential topics that will give you a deep understanding in each field of study. Members can choose to learn from the topics that are most relevant to them at their own pace.
When will I have access to modules?

How long do I have to complete the course?
There is no limit or requirement for you to finish the program within a specific timeframe. You can stay subscribed for as long as you need. Keep in mind that we will add new courses to the portal on a regular basis.
Ideally, you should be able to complete all the course topics within one year. If you finish early, there will be much more to explore beyond the core topics. No pressure though, you can learn and process each module at your own comfort level.
What if I have a question to ask the instructor but cannot attend live?
You can submit your questions in the comment section of the video and our team will compile all questions. Some answers may be found in previous video sessions. Others will require a lot more insight that will be spoken about in detail in the Live sessions.
