Meaning Of Salah
Introduction To Purity Of The Heart
Many of us go through the motions of salah on a daily basis. But how do we make our salah a beautiful experience and a source of relief and comfort like it was for the Prophet (SAW)? In this module, Ustadha Taimiyyah shares the deep meaning of salah and the different du’a we say in each position.
Lesson 1 - Introduction
Many of us go through the motions of salah on a daily basis. But how do we make our salah a beautiful experience and a source of relief and comfort like it was for the Prophet (SAW)? In this module, Ustadha Taimiyyah shares the deep meaning of salah and the different du’a we say in each position.
Lesson 2 - Du'a Istiftah
After the Prophet (SAW) would say “AllahuAkbar” to begin his prayer, there’s a very important du’a that the Prophet (SAW) would say right after it. This du’a focuses on asking for forgiveness. What is that du’a and what is its full translation? Ustadha Taimiyyah Zubair shares in this lesson.
Lesson 3 - Al Fatihah (Opening Surah)
After Duaa Istiftah, we begin with the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah. We recite this surah a minimum of 17 times a day, but do we understand what we’re saying? In this lesson, you will gain a better understanding of Surat Al-Fatihah and start feeling more of a connection with Allah in your salah.
Lesson 4 - Ruku' and Standing Afterward
After reciting Surat Al-Fatihah along with another surah, the next position in salah is ruku’. Ustadha Taimiyyah discusses the meaning of the common dua we make in ruku’, along with other duas we can say. This then leads into the standing position after ruku’ and the meaning of what we say as we stand.
Lesson 5 - Sajdah (Prostration)
After praising Allah SWT in the standing position, we go into the position in which we’re nearest to Allah – the sajdah. What’s the meaning of the dua we say in prostration and what other duas can we make?
Lesson 6 - Jalsa (Sitting)
Between the two prostrations, we have a sitting position called the jalsa. What duas can we make in this position? Also, in our second rak’ah and our last rak’ah of our prayers, we say the tashahhud. What is the meaning of the tashahhud?
Lesson 7 - Sending Blessings Upon the Prophet SAW
After the tashahhud, you send peace and blessings upon the Prophet (SAW). Ustadha Taimiyyah breaks down the meaning of what we say and shares different duas we can recite after the tashahhud, but before we end the prayer.
