The Shepherd's Path (Sīrah )
- Course Outline
If you took an epic journey into the life of a man who transformed humanity, what would you discover?
What would you unquestionably miss if you did not?
"Muhammad is not the father of any of you; He is the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the Prophets " - Qur’an
"If there was no miracle except the Seerah of the Prophet, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, then it would suffice as the greatest miracle!" - Ibn Hajar
Dear Student of Knowledge,
If you have yearned to cultivate your relationship with Allah's Messenger, cry tears of love and spend two weekends with hundreds of students of knowledge doing all the above, then this might be the most important letter you'll ever read.
We all know Seerah classes have been taught far and wide, and CD’s are available. They happen, however, over a period of 8 weeks or 8 months, or you listen in your car on a long vacation drive. Everyday life gets in the way and the beauty of hearing the entire story and its lessons gets interrupted.
Seerah - The Shepherds Path is unlike any Seerah class that has been taught. No where else will in your city can you spend TWO full EmanRush WEEKENDS learning to love Allah's Messenger. No where else will you get the chance to forget your surroundings all weekend long and immerse yourself back to the cave of Hira 5 minutes before Angel Jibreel began the revelation. No where else will you feel the energy that is created when hundreds of Muslim students come together in one classroom.
"None of you believes until I am dearer to him than his own father, his child, and all of mankind." - Muhammad, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam
This is not a seminar ... this is an event in your city’s history. The two weekends when your city gathered together to experience the Messenger of Allah’s Seerah, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam.
Let me give you two good reasons why this Seerah seminar will over-exceed your expectations:
Two Reasons To Believe What We Are Saying
Reason one: Our instructors are captivating narrators! They have the ability to connect the audience with the story at hand, allowing students to journey and re-live each incident with the messenger of Allah SalAllahu Alayhi Wa sallam.
Reason two: Our instructors have studied the life of the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam INDEPTH from some of the greatest scholars of our time in the City of the Prophet, Madinah al-Munawarrah!
Here is a summary of the benefits you receive
1) You will cry tears of happiness, GUARANTEED
... this is the life of Allah's Messenger. He is our Prophet!
2) You will be inspired to emulate the life of Muhammad
... your marriage life, your business life, your school life ... in every aspect you have the best example in Allah's Messenger
3) You will hear the authentic stories from a native English speaker ...
... no need to fry your brain trying to understand what the speaker just said
4) The day will end before it began because you will be so enthralled ...
... you'll get to learn the Prophet's life without having to painfully exhaust yourself mentally
5) You will truly understand what the commotion is all about with the Danish cartoons...
... be able to answer non-Muslims when they ask you, 'What's all the fuss about?'
6) Be able to recall the entire Seerah start to end ...
... every parent has to be able to teach the Seerah to their children or siblings; even if you are not married and do not have children, you know this will look good on your matrimonial application.
7) The more you know the Prophet, the more you will love him
... how valuable would it be for you to love the Prophet even more?
8) Surround yourself with hundreds of students of knowledge like yourself
... ask any AlMaghrib student, there is no atmosphere of studying more awesome then an AlMaghrib atmosphere. It rocks! Hands down.
Now, you're probably wondering how and why we can do all those things.
Let me explain.
You will journey with our instructor as he takes you back to the time of the Prophet, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam...
Beginning with the monumental conquest of Makkah, you will work your way backwards to see how the Prophet and his companions got to that victory.
You will hear story after story of what the Prophet went through in order to establish the oneness of Allah and his Prophethood in the hearts of people.
You will interact with the lessons and morals of the stories, opening your mind and heart to see the deeper picture.
You will feel a fuzzy warm feeling in your heart and with the tears slipping down your cheeks as you relive the struggles that he and his companions endured ... so that you could have Islam today!
Don't take my word for it.
Listen to what our students have to say.
"After the end of the second weekend, as everyone left the class to return to their homes, I felt saddened because I was returning to the current world, a world without live sahabas. The world felt very empty and superficial, as compared to the world at the time the sahaba were spreading the deen." - Umm Sakinah, Columbus, OH
"OMA, I looooooooooved this class like crazy. I swear, it's like one of the biggest EmanRushes u can get, ever! I mean, if you don't know ur history u can't be proud of ur deen and this class totally helps u with that. Your love for the Prophet, sallalahu alayhi wa salam, and the Khulafaa' becomes deeper and you just want to go and HUG them for what they did so that we can have our Deen today. And you learn so many lessons of how to deal with the Ummah, how Abu Bakr (ra) and Umar (ra) and Uthman (ra) and Ali (ra) dealt with the Ummah at their time. During our class, us sisters were so into it that when we got to the point Umar (ra) died, we were crying like it happened right in front of us and you'd feel these shivers and were so deeply saddened.. Subhanallah, I can only wish and make du'a to be like them." - Hijabi4Life, Windsor, ON
"You will learn in this class that nothing is impossible with the correct intention and reason. There was a lesson to be learned from each and every thing said in this seminar." - Kaltham, Columbus, OH
"There is no inspiration nor wisdom I have ever gleaned from the study of other nations, nor from their history, nor from their best stories, that was as good, as GREAT, as what we learned in class about the lives and deaths of the Prophet, sull Allahi alayhi wa sallam, and the Sahaba, radi Allahu 'anhum." - Tariq, Houston, TX www.prayinjamat.com
"Alhamdulilah for this class! i took it about a year ago and it still effects my life today.... a whole year later subhanallah! Before I took this class well... subhanallah, I was different. I did not have such a huge thirst for knowledge...to say the least and then when I took the class the atmosphere the knowledge the people everything was like never before. And then from then on Alhamdulilah I read and read and listened to lectures... the class was what I needed." - Praisebe2Allah, Bay Area, CA
"When we first heard that The Shepherds Path was coming to london, we were sooo excited. All we had heard were rave reviews from the states and canada about how amazing and life changing it was.
But the truth of this didn't hit home until I sat there, and the seminar began with "the prophet salAllahu alayhi wa sallam is dead. This statement doesn't mean much to you now, but when I say it again at the end, your reaction will not be the same"
And subhanAllah how true it was - wallahi, when that statement was said, there was not a single dry eye in that hall. If you could imagine a sword that had cut through a live, pumping heart - that was how much you bled internally. The journey had ended and we tasted a minscule amount of the pain that made Umar radiAllahu anhu vow to kill anyone who proclaimed "Muhammad salAllahu alayhi wa sallam is dead"
We went through the torture of Makkah, saught relief in Abisiniyyah, feared to our core when the ambasadors from makkah arrived, cried in internal anguish when the torture was inflicted upon the sahabahs. We shivered in fear in the cave and tears fell from our cheeks the way they fell down Abu Bakr radiAllahu anhu's cheeks - the bite of a scorpion would not disturb the rest of Rasoolullah.
The panic and confusion of Uhud was played out infront us as if we were there, and the hurt and anger of b'ir ma'oona and the ifk was so great, it took a break time for us to remember the hypcrite Abdullah ibn ubay al saloon was dead - and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala was dealing with him.
I could go on - but I will leave it for you to step up, and take the ticket for the most unforgetable journey of your life.- Sarah Kasmani, London
Warning: Do NOT commit your time to studying a specific Seerah seminar unless it meets the following 5 criteria
There are a lot of study circles and classes going on (Alhamdulilah that ‘something’ is being taught). However, I want to give you 5 criteria or elements you absolutely, positively must have in any Halaqah you attend to get MAXIMUM benefit and a MAXIMUM EmanRush.
You will get all of this and much more in this AlMaghrib Seerah seminar:
1: You should be in an atmosphere of students encouraging you to take an exam based on what you've learned ...
... let's face it, we forget 70% of what he hear, so if we are not putting in the effort to study with people who are seriously cool, how many times are we going to have to spin our wheels trying to 'remember' Seerah?
2: You should not study something piece by miniscule piece over a long period of time ...
... there is nothing more satisfying then having the opportunity to immerse oneself in a language (like Arabic) or Seerah. Don't settle for anything less when you get the opportunity.
3: Study Seerah in a class that gives you the opportunity to interact with what you learn ...
... with AlMaghrib you'll have study halaqah parties, an online forum to share your personal reflections, an exam to test what you think you've understood, mini in-class student buddies, and so much more.
4: The instructor is knowledgeable enough to distinguish authentic stories from the non-authentic ones ...
... it's not very fun when you start crying at a story of "Seerah" but then find out 1 year later that it never happened.
5: Your teacher has taken the time to prepare the BEST class possible ...
... when a teacher comes unprepared, it not only wastes his time, but it wastes yours. A lot of normal classes will be filled with fluff if the teacher comes unprepared.
You get at least 10 times your money's worth!
How much would your parents pay if they sent you off to Islamic school? $300 per month? No ... $550 per month! Per child!
You would probably get 2 - 3 hours of Islamic studies instruction per week. It would take about 3 MONTHS to cover just the 'hours' of an AlMaghrib two weekend seminar.
"This class has helped me re-organize my life and prioritize. This class was more than what I bargained for, I feel like I ripped AlMaghrib off for it. The price should be higher considering what you learn in this class." - Hala, Columbus, OH
Now ... your parents are probably not sending you to Islamic school anymore. Instead, they may have allocated money for your car, or College tuition, or laptop ... or something related to your career.
But what about your study of Islam? Has any money been allocated to that?
Is it possible to imagine a Muslim community where studying Islam stops at grade 8 like their local Islamic school? Who would want to live in a city where everyone stopped studying Islam at grade 8?
You DEMAND a quality Islamic higher-studies program!
You have FOUND it.
Now, how much is it worth to you?
In summary, here's what you'll get:
- You'll leave this course with credit towards a degree in Islamic Studies by AlMaghrib Institute
- A binder with a summary of the lessons and handouts of the seminar
- Step-by-step advice on how to implement what you've learned and carry it on to others.
