Alhumdulila Allah has blessed us to witness another Eid, to celebrate after the blessed days of Dhul Hijjah.

To say there is nothing we can do, is to say that we do not know our religion!

Yes, it is a sad reality! The situation in Ash-sham (Syria) is disturbing, and Allah swt is aware of it all. Children are being killed, others are made to prostrate to pictures of the president, and many maimed and murdered in numerous other methods and events! If this does not move your heart, then what will?

The prophet, Muhammad (may Gods peace and blessing be upon him), said, “There is no good in you if corruption is spread in Ash-sham (the land of Syria)”. If this is not corruption, then what is?

Syria Special

Allah (swt) The Almighty has said,

And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.

To say there is nothing we can do, is to say that we do not know our religion! Why is it that we are not making Ad-du’a, (supplicating) to our Creator in the morning, afternoon, and evening? “Did we give up on Allah, the situation change, or do we just not care?” Allah knows what is going on, what has been and what will be, but this is about change.

Brothers and sisters, Allah has blessed us with Ad-du’a (supplication)! Our Muslim brothers and sisters in Syria and elsewhere are being tested with some of the greatest test known to man. We can cry to our Creator in du’a and raise awareness with our families, communities and around the world.

When asked regarding the most important tenets of faith, most of us would mention: “Tawhid, Salaah, Hajj, sawm, zakah”. ‘All humans are dead except those who have knowledge…’

AlMaghrib is yet again zooming over to another city! After having spread to several countries in the West, AlMaghrib is rapidly moving over to the East capturing the attention and interest of many more students as Dubai eagerly awaits its first ever AlMaghrib seminar.

Dubai will be hosting its very first AlMaghrib double-weekend seminar taught by none other than the founder of AlMaghrib himself, Shaykh Muhammad Alshareef. He will be teaching The Shepherd’s Path, a seerah course that he last taught at Calgary, which was one of the most successful courses that city ever had. This course will enable students to spend two weekends of their life with the man who changed the world, the mercy to mankind…and what a mind blowing experience that will be! We have all heard the stories and studied the events, but attendees of this course will be able to LIVE the events and experience the roller coaster of emotions and challenges Rasoolullah (SAW) faced.

AlMaghrib has been of immense benefit to people of cities before and it is now going to work its magic in a new city where people have been eager to seize this unique opportunity. Ramadaan is coming, Ramadaan is coming and then…Ramadaan has gone. For most of us, Ramadaan seems like a blur. Perhaps it’s due to all that sleeping, eating and sleeping-some-more routine we adopt as soon as the month begins. Ramadaan is a month of anything BUT sleeping. Where the sahaba and salaf would save this month to do all their most important tasks, we save this month to book our holidays off work and catch up on our sleep. This month is way beyond our concept of it. It is primarily the month of the greatest miracle for this ummah, the Qur’an, the month of training to leave bad deeds and excelling in good deeds, the imaan boost of the year, the month of gaining closeness to and immense reward from Allah (swt) and lastly, it’s the month of Mercy, Forgiveness and Salvation from an-Naar. These are they days where one should make continuous du’a and strive for Jannah.   Read More »
